Beamix on your phone
A test build, for both kinds of phone. The way in differs: Android installs the file below, while Apple does not allow that at all and sends you through TestFlight.
Android
It is not on Google Play yet, so the phone will ask a few questions on the way in - that is normal, and the steps below are all of them.
Needs Android 7 or newer, and Bluetooth.
- When the phone asks whether your browser may install apps, allow it.
- Play Protect will warn that the app is unknown to it. Choose "Install anyway".
- Open Beamix, switch Bluetooth on, and tap Connect with the timer powered up nearby.
A newer build arrives through this same link: download it again and install over the old one. Do not uninstall first - that would take your recorded runs with it.
iPhone and iPad
Apple does not let an app be installed from a website, so Beamix arrives through TestFlight - Apple's own app for builds that are not in the App Store yet.
Needs iOS 13.1 or newer, and Bluetooth.
- Install TestFlight from the App Store. It is made by Apple and costs nothing.
- Open the invitation above, tap Accept, then Install. Beamix then sits on the home screen like any other app.
- Open Beamix, switch Bluetooth on, and tap Connect with the timer powered up nearby.
TestFlight says when a newer build is ready and installs it over the old one, keeping your recorded runs. A test build stops opening 90 days after it was made. Install the newest one from TestFlight and it works again.
Worth knowing
- An account is needed. The app asks for one on first launch, because every rider and time is filed under it. After that the phone remembers the account and records with no network at all - but a phone that has never signed in cannot start.
